Workers' Compensation
The Law Offices of David L. Hood and associated counsel represent workers who have been injured on the job (Workers' Compensation) and who may be having problems with their claim. Typically, a claim is either accepted or denied by the insurance company that has insured the employer. We can assist the injured worker in attempting to get a claim accepted. If the claim is denied, we can move forward and file for a hearing to get approval.
Under the SC Workers' Compensation Code, an injured worker is typically entitled to temporary total compensation (which is a weekly check of 2/3's of his or her average weekly wage). They are also entitled to medical care, however, the medical providers are chosen by the employer. Once an injured worker has reached maximum medical improvement, they are released from medical care and ultimately their case is either settled or goes to a hearing.
